Skincare: The Natural Route to Healthy Skin

If you don't already know by now, I am a huge skincare buff. From budget buys to luxury brands, when it comes to skincare I just can't say no. But organic skincare products? Even Better.

I shared my previous skincare routine with you a few months back, which contained some Korres products. Tried and tested, I have realised that I am absolutely in love their products. The Greek brand has a simplistic theme going on, through their website to the actual products. Simplistic, but full of organic, natural goodness. If you are a herbal-loving kinda girl, (like me), you should go take a look at their website. Not only does it allow you to buy their products, but it allows you to take a look at how they first came about. You can read about their first ever product, a honey & aniseed spirit (yes, they sell herbal beverages too!), and take a look at their 15 year timeline. You can also delve into their Pharmacy in Athens, and meet the inspiring people that are behind the incredible brand.

So it felt only right that I try another one of their products and squeeze it into my new skincare routine. I bought the Sage & Salicyclic Acid Regulating Cleansing Gel because it is specifically suited for Oily Skin, and I know from experience that products with Salicylic Acid in them do wonders for my face. The Orange and Lemon extracts clean the skin and remove dead skin cells, while the Sage works as a Mild Antiseptic and reduces any horrible spots or imperfections. It also contains a whole lot of other goodness, including Aloe.

The fact that it is a Gel-based cleanser also persuaded me into trying it, as I loved their White Tea Fluid Gel Cleanser. I simple added a little bit of water to it, and massage it into a lather on the skin - the results were immediate after rinsing.

The next brand I am going to talk about is Burt's Bees. I have tried their "Radiance" skincare range, including their shimmery lip balm and I fell in love with everything about it. The scent of all the products, and the overall effect they had on my skin was amazing. It seems that my skin really thrives on herbal products rather than chemical-based ones.

I decided on the Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Toner as the main ingredient is Salicylic Acid, sourced from Willow Bark Extract. I wanted a toner that was going to match up to the cleanser I used, and I think that two products with active Salicylic Acid will work as a team and really work magic on my skin. The product also includes Witch Hazel and Lemongrass. I have used Witch Hazel products before, and although the ingredient is quite strong, it has been incredible at penetrating and killing spots and imperfections almost overnight.

The next product from Burt's Bees is their Carrot Nutritive Day Cream. This product is bursting with natural ingredients, including Almond, Avocado, Coconut Oil and of course Carrot Seed Oil. The vitamin A in the Carrot Seed Oil is meant to help keep sun-drenched skin healthy, so I am definitely packing this when I go to Portugal this week.

Unlike the other products mentioned, I have already started using this cream alongside my current skincare products, and I am going to be honest about the scent - it is definitely distinctive to say the least, and I am not a huge fan. Although, the formula itself makes the cream so rich and completely nourishes the skin. It also makes a great base for powder foundations.

The last product I am going to mention has completely turned my world upside down. I don't know what the heck I was doing without it before, and I don't think many of you will be surprised to hear me say that Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate is the best thing I have ever put onto my skin. The results were instant, and after the first time of using it I woke up the next morning to glowing skin. Not only does it smell of lavender but the ingredients are all natural too, and include Evening Primrose Oil which I already take in my herbal tablet routine. My skin has benefited so much from this miracle product, and not only has it made my skin look and feel healthier and clearer, it has also evened out my skin tone and improved the darkness under my eyes.

Oh, and the bottle is completely recyclable too.

I will be sure to keep you updated once I start using all the products together!
