autumn tag

Autumn is by far my favourite season. The late summer days when you notice a few crisp leaves on the ground that have fallen from the trees give me a funny, magical feeling inside and I can't help but feel like a child at this time each year as I get excited for the weather to turn from golden to brown. It's October now, and I think this Autumn tag is well overdue.

WHAT SIGNIFIES THE START OF AUTUMN FOR YOU?

When I start catching glimpses of people wearing coats outside instead of thin cardigans and long sleeved t-shirts. It sounds simple, but in my head I have always found that this is a significant step in the changes of the seasons. Feeling the quick and short patter of rain in the wind on my window, and then nothing. Little glimpses that Autumn has started are just beautiful to me.

FAVOURITE FALL SCENT?

There was this one WoodWick candle we always used to burn at our old flat called Cedar that sticks out in my mind when I think of Autumn scents. I also just love the smell of crisp, fresh air as I step outside from the warmth of my home into the outside world.

FAVOURITE AUTUMN COLOUR?

My favourite 'Autumn' scene when I think about the seasonal colours is a dark, green forest, contrasting a rich red pine covered ground. I love that dark yellows are really 'in' this year too, I've seen a lot of people wearing vibrant yellow raincoats and I love it.

FAVOURITE FALL DRINK?

It goes without saying that a good old cuppa is my favourite drink, but in Autumn I like to have a wander down the hot drinks aisle in the shops and have a look for a nice hot chocolate I haven't tried before. The more autumnal the packaging, the more I want to buy it. I am like a magpie drawn to the packaging and not really what lies within!

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO SPEND A RAINY DAY?

If I can gather up the energy I love to bake. Cinnamon cupcakes are a must in Autumn/Winter. And then of course spending the remainder of the day setting up a photographic scene for Instagram, cupcakes and golden leaves from the ground outside included. Ha! But, if I feel really lazy on rainy days (which I tend to) I love staying in my pyjamas and either playing on the Xbox or reading a book. It sounds really dull, but it's the truth.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE AUTUMN MOVIE?

I've seen this answer on a few of these tags, but it's mine too. I love watching Harry Potter at this time of the year. There is something really nostalgic about it, and they are such good cosy movies to watch. I've also noticed that a lot of the bookshops are making a big thing about Hazza P again right now. It must be a traditionally Autumnal movie for everyone I think!

WHAT IS YOUR MOST LOVED OUTDOOR AUTUMN ACTIVITY?

I love driving down to the Peak District with my partner and Springer Spaniel, picnic and camera in tow, and spending the entire day walking with winter coats on our backs and a warm flask of tea in my hand. My grandma lives in the Peaks, and a very nostalgic memory from when I was younger stands out to me of my parents driving my brother and I down to my grandma's house at Christmas time, driving over foggy moors and then through thick forests and ending up at their secluded country home. On the way back I would love watching the passing houses warm glows from the window all the way home. I think that's probably the reason why I just love going walking in the Peaks this time of year.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE AUTUMN FASHION TREND?

I've recently bought a brand new Cheshire coat with a Autumn chequered lining and white fur collar that I absolutely love. I also like cable knit jumpers and tartan skirts teamed with over the knee brown leather boots. Anything traditionally autumnal and rustic, I love it. What's your go-to fall look?
